It is important to be familiar with the rules of the water (and the sky) while efforts are being made to fight the devastating fires in BC and Alberta. Keep your distance and avoid jeopardizing any firefighting aircrafts that you see skimming the water.
Any wild fires or activities causing danger should be reported immediately. Residents of BC are asked to call 1-800-663-5555 or *5555 on mobile devices. If in Alberta, call 310-FIRE (3473). Additional provinces can visit their provincial government website to view the correct emergency contact information.
Cowichan Bay’s 32nd Annual Wooden Boat Festival
It is estimated that 60 to 80 entrants and their families will be visiting Victoria, BC in June 2018, to participate in the Melges 24 World Championship Regatta. It will be held at the Victoria International Marina, who has partnered with the Royal Victoria Yacht Club to host the event. This annual event has not been in Victoria since 2014 and is expected to draw in an audience worldwide.
